Google introduced Android 10 (Go Edition) - an operating system for entry-level smartphones, whose RAM does not exceed 1.5 GB. In addition to traditional optimization of the speed of work on budget devices, the new version of the OS has acquired a data encryption function and an updated set of proprietary applications.

According to Google, the performance of the new Go-version of Android when launching applications increased by 10% compared to last year. Another innovation was the use of Adiantum technology, which allows low-cost devices with limited system resources to encrypt data without sacrificing performance.

Gallery Go, one of the latest innovations created by the Google Photos team, has been added to the set of standard applications for budget devices. The application is optimized for working offline using machine learning on a device to classify images: for example, pet photos, portrait pictures, and selfies will automatically be grouped into categories. The Google Go search engine, in turn, is notable for the function of reading web pages, and also acquired the capabilities of the Google Lens service.

The first devices running Android 10 (Go Edition) will be available until the end of the fall of this year. According to Google, over the past 18 months, more than 1600 models of devices with a Go-version of the mobile OS have entered the market.
