  • Vice President of OPPO criticized the rating of DxOMark mobile cameras

When announcing new smartphones, manufacturers are increasingly referring to reviews of mobile cameras of the popular DxOMark portal, but not OPPO. None of the devices of the Chinese brand did participate in the tests of this resource, as the manufacturer did not provide their devices for review. OPPO Vice President Brian Shen explained the decision.

    Current DxOMark rating

In correspondence with users of the social network, Weibo Brian Shen questioned the importance of DxOMark tests. He said that there is no need to set a certain standard when it comes to cameras in smartphones. Shen also asked the fans if it was right to adjust each camera to one specific standard.

"Do you really need a DxO? Do all cameras need to be set to the same standard? I mean, there may be a need for rating agencies, but do you need something as subjective as photography to meet the same standard? Is it right to decorate all with one style?"— wrote the Vice-President of OPPO.

In part, Brian Shen is right: you can not judge the quality of the camera smartphone only by evaluation, but in this case, in the DxOMark reviews there is always a detailed result for each parameter of the shooting of each device under test.
