  • The release date of the flexible clamshell Motorola RAZR became known

For more than half a year, Motorola has been teasing fans with a promise to release a re-release of the legendary Motorola RAZR clamshell. The device should receive a large folding display inside and another additional screen outside. Now the timing of the announcement of the unusual smartphone has become known.

CNET, citing a "source close to the company", claims that the smartphone will still be presented this year. However, wait for the announcement is closer to the end of 2019. Initially, Lenovo promised to release Motorola RAZR with a flexible display this summer, but since then, no official statements have been received.

The network has already published the alleged characteristics of the smartphone, but, as reported, the manufacturer decided to postpone the release of the device. The reason for this decision, according to insiders, was the Samsung Galaxy Fold design problems identified at the beginning of the year. The company's engineers allegedly took up the elimination of possible shortcomings.

The smartphone is equipped with an eight-core Snapdragon 710 processor, up to 6 GB of RAM and a drive with a capacity of up to 128 GB. The capacity of the built-in battery is only 2730 mAh. In the open state, the device will have a 6.2-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2142x876 pixels, and inside there will be an additional screen with a resolution of 800x600 pixels for displaying notifications.

The estimated price of the Motorola RAZR is about $ 1,500 in the US and € 1,500 in Europe.
