In mid-April, Samsung announced the release of the bendable Galaxy Fold smartphone, the retail debut of which was postponed for testing the design features of the new product. According to the test results, the company carried out a number of modifications of the device and announced the start date of sales.
By the final stage of closed testing Samsung engineers, who analyzed the work of more than 2000 devices from the first test batch, made the following changes to the design of the smartphone:
- The upper protective layer of the Infinity Flex display has been increased so that it fits close to the frame of the device
- The joints of the hull reinforced with new protective caps
- Under the display placed reinforcing metal plates to protect it
- The gap between the hinge and the body has been reduced
Despite the minimal visual differences with the first revision, the modified version of Galaxy Fold, according to the vendor, meets all standards of reliability and practicality. Samsung is also continuing to work on optimizing more applications and services for the bendable device interface.
Global sales of Samsung Galaxy Fold will begin in September this year.
