In its advertising campaign, Xiaomi presents Redmi Note 7 as a very durable smartphone that can even crack nuts. Known technobloger Zach Niels decided to test this statement. The author of the YouTube channel JerryRigEverything conducted a traditional strength test — he scratched, set fire and tried to bend the gadget. The result is hardly satisfactory.
The Redmi Note 7 uses tempered glass Corning Gorilla Glass of the fifth generation. It scratches in the same way as in all modern smartphones. The frame of the device is made of plastic, which is softer than metal, and therefore more likely to soften the impact when falling. But there is this material and one big drawback — low strength.
When the blogger first tried to bend the smartphone, it gave in a little and changed shape, but remained intact. Then Nilsson made an effort on the back side-the body of the device cracked in several places and then broke the glass in the back and front.
After disassembling the Redmi Note 7, it turned out that the gadget has a metal frame inside, but it is interrupted in the locations of the buttons and the SIM tray, where the case broke.
