  • OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro compared in terms of autonomy with the flagships of Apple, Samsung and HUAWEI


    The recently introduced OnePlus 8 Pro has already been compared with competitors in terms of wireless charging speed and shooting quality. Now there is a comparison of the autonomy of the new OnePlus smartphones with the flagships of other manufacturers.

    The test involved OnePlus 8 (4300 mAh), OnePlus 8 Pro (4510 mAh), iPhone 11 Pro Max (3969 mAh), Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra (5000 mAh) and HUAWEI P40 Pro (4200 mAh). For the sake of the experiment, the same brightness of the screens was set on all smartphones using a special device. The display refresh rate was set to the maximum possible, thus simulating real-world usage. Recall that in the iPhone 11 Pro Max, this is the standard 60 Hz, in HUAWEI P40 Pro and OnePlus 8 - 90 Hz, and in Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and OnePlus 8 Pro - 120 Hz.

    During the test, smartphones were used to launch games, video conferencing, Instagram, music recognition in Shazam, playing videos on YouTube, watching a stream on Twitch, benchmarks, viewing local 4K content, and recording videos on the main camera.

    The first out of action was the usual OnePlus 8, which worked for 6 hours and 20 minutes. After 39 minutes, HUAWEI P40 Pro was disconnected. The third with the result in 7 hours 9 minutes "extinguished" OnePlus 8 Pro. The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra lasted 8 hours and 19 minutes. The iPhone 11 Pro Max lasted the longest - 8 hours and 26 minutes.
