After months of rumors and leaks, HMD Global has finally unveiled the flagship Nokia 9 PureView smartphone. The novelty has largely become a landmark for the manufacturer. So, this is the first device of the line with a fingerprint scanner built into the screen. But the main feature of the smartphone was the main camera, consisting of five sensors with Zeiss optics and a total resolution of 60 MP.
Nokia 9 PureView is made in the classic form factor with a monolithic body and glass Corning Gorilla Glass 5 front and rear. On the front side, there is a 6-inch pure display POLED display with Quad HD + resolution and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The screen received support for HDR10 and Always on Display mode to display useful information in a locked state. It is also the first Nokia smartphone to have a fingerprint scanner built into the display.
"Our experience of innovations in the field of photography allowed us to present Nokia 9 PureView today. We want many users to be able to afford this reliable and durable smartphone. Therefore, we offer a balanced price for the flagship with stunning design, excellent cameras, and display, as well as the best functionality of Google, including "Google Assistant". We keep this promise to users and produce smartphones with a clean, secure and updated Android OS, thanks to which once purchased smartphone only gets better as you use", — said Juho Sarvikas, Director of products HMD Global.
The most interesting thing about Nokia 9 PureView is in the back. This is the first smartphone with five main cameras with Zeiss optics. Two color and three monochrome sensors work in sync, capturing 10 times more light than a single lens camera. As a result, the resulting photos convey all the visible shades of light and shadow. All this is complemented by special algorithms that accurately capture the texture and details of the subject, regardless of the conditions around.
In the process of processing the image, artificial intelligence technologies distinguish 1200 levels of depth of field and allow you to change the focus point on the finished photo. All of them are shot in HDR mode, with a dynamic range of 12.4 exposure steps. You can save your photos in RAW/DNG formats and edit them in the preinstalled Adobe Photoshop Lightroom app or by using the Google Photos app directly on your smartphone.
The device is built on the basis of last year's flagship processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. The amount of RAM is 6 GB, and the built-in drive is 128 GB. Responsible for the autonomy of the battery capacity 3320 mAh. Support wireless and fast wired charging. Like all Nokia devices, the new 9 PureView is released as part of the Android One program and comes with a clean version of Android 9.0 Pie.
