Sale of the low-cost Nokia 4.2 smartphone started. Among the features of the new product — a display with thin frames, eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, dual camera, NFC module, a dedicated button to call the virtual assistant and a clean version of the operating system Android 9 Pie.
Nokia 4.2 is the first smartphone of the brand with a dedicated button to call "Google Assistant". Simply click on the button and ask the assistant a question or ask to perform the desired action like building a route. Double-click to display a detailed plan for the day, including the schedule of traffic and bills to be paid. When you hold the button, you can have a continuous conversation with the assistant.
In addition to the virtual assistant, Nokia 4.2 also implements other functions using artificial intelligence technologies. Among them — unlock by scanning the face, the quick launch of installed applications using " Google Assistant" and instant access to the camera.
Nokia 4.2 has a compact by modern standards case with dimensions of 148.95 x 71.30 x 8.39 mm. This is achieved due to the thin frame around the 5.71-inch display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. The front camera is built into a small keyhole to save useful space. The back cover is made of glass and the side frame is made of matte polycarbonate. The power button is equipped with an led indicator to alert you of missed notifications.
The smartphone is equipped with a dual camera with a 13-megapixel main sensor and an additional 2-megapixel depth sensor for shooting in portrait mode with background blur. When photographing, artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies are used, and ready-made images can be processed in the pre-installed Google Photos application. The Google Lens service built into the camera app allows you to quickly get information about things around you or translate unknown text.
Nokia 4.2 comes preinstalled with the Android 9 Pie operating system and is included in the Android One program. This means that the smartphone is guaranteed to receive two major OS updates and monthly security patches within three years. Out of the box, the device comes with a minimal set of preinstalled apps and no add-ons from the manufacturer.
