The OnePlus line of smartphones is notable for many useful features, but the company's gadgets have not received a certificate of protection from water and dust. Soon the situation may change - the network has updated information about the characteristics of the next generation of "killer flagships".
According to network informant Max J, at least the OnePlus 8 Pro model will be certified for compliance with the IP68 standard in 2020. However, the more affordable OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Lite can be presented without the corresponding marking. Earlier, the head of the vendor, Pete Lau, stated that "the protection rating does not give an idea of the real experience of use", although he did not rule out that the company will certify smartphones in the future.
According to previous leaks, new items can also get a wireless charging function, which is absent from previous gadgets of the popular line. According to rumors, the manufacturer intended to equip this option with devices of the OnePlus 7 series but then canceled the upgrade due to problems with overheating of the charging coils.
According to online sources, the announcement of the model range of OnePlus 8 smartphones is expected in late March or early April of this year.
