Together with a new laptop and a “charged" 5G-tablet during the presentation, HUAWEI announced the bendable smartphone Mate Xs. In addition to the updated processor, the new product has a more durable display cover than its predecessor, as well as a capacious battery and a powerful charger included.
The key feature of the new HUAWEI Mate Xs is a flexible 8-inch AMOLED display manufactured by Samsung. According to the manufacturer, the gadget has an improved hinge compared to the previous model of the line and 80% more resistant to external influences protective coating. When you bend the gadget, the user has two screens at once without a side frame with a diagonal of 6.6 and 6.38 inches. Thanks to this design, you can use any of the sides of the device as the main display.
For the performance of the smartphone meets the 7-nm flagship mobile platform Kirin 990 5G in combination with 8 GB of RAM. For the operating system, installing applications and storing files, a built-in 512 GB drive is provided. The built-in 5G modem provides the device with the ability to work in fifth-generation mobile networks.
Like its predecessor, the device received two built-in batteries with a total capacity of 4500 mAh. For the speed of “refueling”, the model meets the fast charging technology with a power of 55 W, capable of “swinging” the battery to 80% capacity in 30 minutes. The new product is running the Android 10 operating system with the proprietary EMUI 11 shell.
The main camera with Leica optics is represented by three sensors. The resolution of the main one is 40 megapixels (f/1.8, RYYB filter, OIS). The 8-megapixel auxiliary is equipped with a telephoto lens with a focal length of 80 mm, a triple optical zoom and optical stabilization. The third 16-megapixel sensor received wide-angle optics and an f/2.2 aperture.
Completes the combination of the ToF module for determining the depth and scanning objects in the frame. The maximum zoom ratio of the model’s hybrid zoom is 45x, and the minimum focal length for macro photography is 2.5 cm. The declared ISO sensitivity is 204,800 units.
The price of the HUAWEI Mate Xs is €2499. In addition, the company introduced a new Wi-Fi 6+ router with data transfer speeds of up to 2400 MB/s, a Quad-core processor and a 5G router with a download speed of 3.6 GB/s when working in fifth-generation networks. The cost of network equipment and the start date of sales of all new products will be announced later.
