  • New Lenovo ultrabooks: top processors and up to 18 hours of autonomy


    During MWC 2019, Lenovo updated the IdeaPad and ThinkPad ultrabooks. New items running Windows 10 are compact in size, long battery life and a wide selection of configurations based on processors Intel Whiskey Lake and AMD Ryzen 3000.

    Lenovo IdeaPad S540

    Depending on the modification, the new Lenovo IdeaPad S540 is equipped with an Intel Core i7 processor of the 8th generation or AMD Ryzen 7 3700U, built-in graphics can be supplemented with a discrete graphics card NVIDIA GeForce MX250 or GeForce GTX 1050. The Ryzen version comes with only the integrated Radeon RX Vega 10 graphics core.

    The new product will be available with IPS-display 14 or 15 inches with a resolution of Full HD (1920x1080) and thin frames. Support for Rapid Charge technology will allow you to recharge the battery up to 80% within one hour. Autonomy, depending on the installed CPU, will be from 8 (for AMD) to 12 (for Intel) hours.

    Lenovo IdeaPad S540

    The capacity of the laptop RAM is 12 GB, the size of the built-in SSD - up to 512 GB. Lenovo also provided the device with a webcam protection function, previously implemented only in premium models of the company. Three versions of IdeaPad S540 will be available at retail from April to July 2019. 14-inch model based on Intel processor will cost from $879, the 15-inch version on the "blue" CPU - from $849, and ultrabook running AMD Ryzen with a diagonal of 14 inches will cost from $729.

    Lenovo IdeaPad S340

    Upgrade line Lenovo IdeaPad S340 includes the transition of new models to processors Intel Core i7 8th generation or AMD Ryzen 7 3700U. Both versions will have up to 12 GB of RAM, an SSD up to 2 TB and a 14 or 15-inch display.

    Like the s540 series, new items will get a thin frame and protection of the webcam. All configurations will be available in March and April of this year at a price of $369 for a 14-inch model on Intel (from $449 for a 15-inch device), a laptop based on AMD processor with a 15-inch screen will cost from $429.

    Lenovo IdeaPad S340

    Lenovo ThinkPad X390

    The smallest ultrabook of the ThinkPad family with the index X390 was supplied by the manufacturer with a 13.3-inch matrix with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, fitting it into the case of a 12-inch model. Under the hood is an 8th generation Intel Core vPro i7 processor with built-in Intel UHD 620 video core, up to 32GB of RAM and PCIe SSD up to 1TB.

    According to the manufacturer, the laptop can work up to 18 hours on a single battery charge. On the case of new items housed Thunderbolt 3 and USB Type-C ports, two USB Type-a, HDMI and microSD card slot.

    Lenovo ThinkPad X390

    Privacy of work behind the device is provided by the PrivacyGuard function, which determines the presence of strangers behind the back of the owner with the help of an IR camera. If necessary, the smart algorithm will display a notification, darken the display or make it visible only when the owner is sitting right in front of the screen. Additionally, a portable PC with support for the Windows Hello function is equipped with a mechanical shutter ThinkShutter for the webcam.

    Lenovo ThinkPad X390 will debut in June 2019, the price of the device starts at $1099. The ThinkPad X390 Yoga 2-in-1 modification with multi-function hinges will enter the market at a price of $1359.

    Lenovo ThinkPad T490

    The update of the model range also affected the popular t-series of Lenovo laptops. ThinkPad Ht490, in addition to the HDR display with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels and a brightness of 500 nits, has acquired the function of PrivacyGuard, a latch for webcam ThinkShutter and two directional microphones.

    The performance of the device is provided by the Intel Core vPro i7 processor, the amount of RAM in various modifications can reach 48 GB, the built-in SSD — up to 1 TB. Depending on the model, the built-in GPU Intel HD Graphics 620 or dedicated NVIDIA GeForce MX250 with 2 GB of video memory will be responsible for the graphics capabilities of the device. From one battery charge laptop, according to the company, is able to survive without a power outlet up to 16 hours.

    Lenovo ThinkPad T490

    Modification T490s will be 13% thinner than the base unit, will receive an aluminum top cover. Another difference from the older revision will be the amount of RAM (up to 32 GB) and video adapter (only integrated graphics Intel). Start of sales of laptops will take place in June: T490 will cost from $999, and T490s — from $1279.
