Gaming laptops are often distinguished by top filling and unusual design solutions. The new HP Omen X 2S did not break this tradition — the manufacturer equipped it with two displays at once. In addition to the main 15-inch screen, it has an extra to expand the gamer's capabilities during the game. Also, the new product has productive characteristics.
HP Omen X 2S features a 15-inch IPS display with full HD resolution and 144 Hz refresh rate. Configurations with 240 Hz refresh rate and 4K resolution are available. Under the main screen is an additional — with a diagonal of 6 inches and a similar resolution. It is possible to watch the stream, chat in chat rooms to track the performance of the system and display the interface elements from the main map screen, inventory, etc.
Inside the case thickness of 20 mm housed Intel Core-i9 processor of the ninth generation with the ability to accelerate to 5 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q, 32 GB of RAM and Intel Optane drive. Also, the new product uses a new unusual cooling system with five directions of air flow and a special thermal paste made of liquid metal for the CPU, the thermal conductivity of which is 10 times higher than that of conventional silicone.
The basic configuration of HP Omen X 2S costs $2100, and the version with 16 GB of RAM, 1 TB SSD and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q is estimated at $2700.
In addition to the new Omen X 2S, HP introduced improved versions of Omen 15 and Omen 17. Both laptops received Full HD displays with 144 and 240 Hz refresh rate and support for NVIDIA G-Sync, eight-core Intel Core-i9 processor of the ninth generation and up to 32 GB of RAM. 15-inch model in the top version comes with a video card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q, while the 17-inch is the usual RTX 2080. In comparison with predecessors Omen 15 and Omen 17 became thinner by 18% and 20% — their thickness is 20 and 27 mm, respectively.
All new omen laptops will be available in June, but the 240 Hz versions will not be available until October.
