One of the main features of the ROG Strix gaming laptop line is displays with an “e-sports” refresh rate of 240 Hz with a response time of 3 ms. The diagonal of the matrix of models of the starting series under the name G15 and G17 is 15.6 and 17 ”, respectively. The high scanning frequency ensures the smoothest picture even in dynamic scenes and reduces eye strain during long gaming sessions.

In the top-end configuration, new items are equipped with an eight-core Intel Core i7-10875H processor with 16 threads of execution and a maximum clock speed of 4.5 GHz. The manufacturer used liquid metal as the thermal interface, which provides efficient heat dissipation and the possibility of overclocking the CPU without fear of overheating.

Other features of the new products include the Wi-Fi 6 wireless module, a proprietary keyboard with a customizable Aura Sync backlight, and the ability to customize the LED elements on the case. The series of laptops is presented in three color options: black, blue and electric. The list of interface ports includes 3 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A sockets, one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C, RJ-45, HDMI 2.0b, as well as a combined 3.5 mm audio jack for the headset.

More productive models of the ROG STRIX Scar series have got displays with a record scanning frequency of 300 Hz (3 MS) and I9-10980HK processors (8 cores/16 threads). A special version of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER graphics adapter is notable for the ability to overclock up to 1540 Hz to increase gaming performance. The new products also received support for the instant configuration of the user profile using the Asus ROG Keystone 2 NFC keychain. The Younger devices in the series are equipped With GeForce RTX 2060 and RTX 2070 graphics adapters.

The flagship of the line is ASUS ROG STRIX Scar 17 GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER Edition. As the name suggests, the laptop with a 17.3-inch screen (300 Hz/3 MS) received the maximum configuration, including an Intel Core i9-10980-HK processor with a frequency of up to 5.3 GHz and a video card overclocked to 1560 MHz. At the same time, the thickness of its case is only 1.5 mm more than the base version. Six heat pipes are responsible for cooling the model. Dust and small particles are removed from the housing through specially designed tunnels in the fan housings and do not accumulate on the radiator fins.

Keystone II technology allows you to use an NFC keychain to speed up app launches and store secret files in a hidden section of the Shadow Drive. When you remove the gadget, the laptop can instantly switch to "invisible" mode - collapse all windows, mute the sound and log out of the windows account. The Cloud Profile function activates the user's personal settings from the ROG ID account on all compatible devices.

The price and start date of sales of all configurations of the updated line of ASUS ROG Strix laptops will be announced by the manufacturer later.

ASUS has introduced a new compact laptop VivoBook 14 (X403). Its body is made in accordance with the military reliability standard MIL-STD-810G. Thanks to the thin frame 14-inch Full HD-screen takes 87% of the surface area of the cover. Another feature was the capacious battery that provides up to 24 hours of battery life from a single charge.

VivoBook 14 is made in a metal case, available in two design options: classic silver-blue and powder-pink. With a thickness of 16.5 mm laptop weight is only 1.3 kg. Thin screen frame NanoEdge allowed to reduce the size compared to the previous model, so it became even more convenient to carry the device.
The laptop was subjected to a number of severe tests for compliance with the military standard of the US army MIL-STD 810G, including work in the mountains, in conditions of high humidity and temperature, which indicates its reliability and durability.

The device is equipped with a four-cell battery for 72 W * h, providing up to 24 hours of battery life away from the outlet. ASUS Battery Health Charging proprietary technology protects the battery from overcharging, extending its life and preventing possible damage.

The width of the frame around the screen in the narrowest place is only 4.1 mm. the webcam is located in the usual place at the top of the lid. The display with Full HD (1920x1080) resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio has wide viewing angles and anti-reflective coating. Video technology ASUS Tru2Life transforms every pixel in the frame, and intelligent algorithms improve the contrast of the image by 150%, increasing its clarity.

The maximum package VivoBook 14 includes an Intel Core i7 processor of the eighth generation, 16 GB of RAM and a solid state drive with a capacity of up to 1 TB. Dual band 802.11 ac Wi-Fi module provides a high-speed Internet connection. The built-in fingerprint scanner and Windows Hello support allow you to log in quickly and securely without entering a password every time. Standard size keys with 1.4 mm stroke have a built-in backlight, allowing you to work even in the dark.

Vivobook series laptops are positioned as a solution for young and active users looking for a reliable laptop that will not run out of power in two hours. ASUS VivoBook 15 X512UF surely fits into these requirements, pleases with opportunities and small dimensions.

      External rigor
Vivobook 15 design combines functionality and minimalism. Made of the smooth matte plastic cover is thin: in the closed state, it reacts to an attempt to squeeze it with your finger, and in the open — on twisting. As for the material, there are almost no traces left on it, and in extreme cases, they are easy to erase.
When opening the laptop at an angle greater than 90 degrees, the lower part of the cover acts as a stand — it rests on the surface, lifting the keyboard unit for more convenient text or commands. The feature is interesting, but I would like more because the body rises just a few millimeters. Nevertheless, this hinge is a plus, it is possible to "play" with the height.

Display diagonal of 15.6 inches is made by IPS technology. Its calibration is closer to cold shades. The viewing angles are not amazing, but otherwise, there are no complaints — a good, high-quality screen. The side frames are elegant — thinner than 6 mm. That, however, did not prevent to install the webcam on its usual place in the middle of the upper edge. With this design, the display area-to-body ratio is 88% and the laptop feels very small. The device weighs only 1,600 grams: put it in the backpack behind and not feel. Compared to other solutions with the same screen diagonal, VivoBook 15 is more compact, and this is a big plus for those who are used to working on the road.
      Workhorse
The keyboard has a short soft stroke, and also has three levels of illumination brightness, which can be controlled by a combination of Fn+F7. When the system "understands" that do not use keys, the backlight turns off until, until will not resume entering commands. The light intensity at the maximum level seemed excessive, and the first value is enough.

The layout at first glance is classic, but there are nuances in the work. For example, some users are accustomed to the fact that Backspace is usually longer, and "arrows" and a number of F — thicker. Digital block in VivoBook 15 retained, although its buttons are clipped slightly in width. You get used to this concept quickly, but users with large fingers will complain about erroneous command input because of the size of the keys. This is the price of compactness. The rest of the keys are of the usual size: it is convenient to type text on the main block, the processing of commands is correct, the distance between the buttons allows to minimize typos.
The touch panel is medium in size, its coating is tactile almost no different from the body material. The trackpad is pressed to click and requires average effort, so accidental clicks are unlikely. There were no complaints about the capabilities and accuracy of gesture input during testing.

      Performance and autonomy
Thanks to the Intel Core i7 of the eighth generation in conjunction with a fast SSD, the laptop instantly wakes up, no matter how much time spent with the lid closed. But the graphics card is not enough stars — with NVIDIA GeForce MX130 is not up to the top games. It is suitable only for casual entertainment in medium settings. On the other hand, the device is not a gaming one — it would be strange to demand high performance from it. Work and benchmarks laptop stands quietly, coolers and if included, they are almost inaudible.
In addition, the choice of hardware manufacturer provides good autonomy. With mixed use in the "Improved battery" mode, constant connection to Wi-Fi, working with text locally and online, downloading files and installing utilities for testing, the battery confidently lasts five hours. The complete adapter allows you to charge your laptop from zero to 60% in 50 minutes. The adapter itself is small and does not resemble a brick — it is a separate plus. Under full load without any limiting modes, discharge is faster — for example, in two and a half hours in PCMark 8 with an emphasis on the battery charge level fell from 100 to 19%. The laptop was heated, but not critical.

ASUS has introduced the third generation of gaming laptops ROG Strix Scar and ROG Strix Hero within the Republic of Gamers (ROG) brand. They received the latest ninth-generation Intel Core processors, NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics cards and an updated design, which was developed by BMW Designworks Group specialists.

      ROG Strix Hero III
The new series of Strix laptops was developed in cooperation with BMW Designworks Group specialists. One of the features of laptops are stepped projections on the body. The hinges of the scissor mechanism display are slightly pushed forward, which allowed space for additional ventilation at the back, and the asymmetric cutout under the top cover prevents the interaction of the screen with the air flow. When closing the hinges are hidden in the body, reducing the possibility of failure.

      ROG Strix Scar III
Another feature of the new products was the proprietary lighting Aura Sync with an additional light panel on the perimeter of the front and sides of the case. The light is reflected from the table, creating a special atmosphere with a choice of different glow effects.

      ROG Strix Hero III
The laptops used standard Phillips screws, so no special tools are required for disassembly. When the back cover is opened, the user has access to two SO-DIMM slots with the ability to install up to 32 GB of RAM and compartments for 2.5-inch disks and M. 2 format drives.

      ROG Strix Scar III

ASUS has introduced new X409 and X509 laptops designed for everyday use. It is a compact model with a diagonal of NanoEdge screens 14 and 15 inches respectively, and a thin framework. In the maximum configuration, they are equipped with Intel Core i7 processor of the eighth generation, discrete NVIDIA graphics, and two drives.

The X409 and X509 notebooks come with the eighth-generation Intel Core i7 processor, a discrete NVIDIA GeForce MX250 graphics card, a 512 GB solid-state drive, and a 1 TB hard drive. Optional memory support Intel Optane.
The X409 is equipped with a 14-inch screen, and the width of the frame on the sides is only 6.5 mm. The 15-inch X509 has a side frame width of 7 mm, and the screen itself occupies 83% of the area of the inner surface of the cover. Laptops turned out thin and light — 1.65 kg and 1.8 kg, respectively.

To give additional strength in new products used metal inserts. The reinforcement plate under the keyboard provides the necessary rigidity for comfortable work with the touchpad and the keyboard itself, and the brackets, located perpendicular to the edge of the case, protect the swivel mount and the internal components of the laptop from side impacts. In addition, E‑A‑R technology absorbs shock to the body and vibration on three axes, reducing the risk of damage to the hard drive.

Both models support Windows Hello and the ability to log in to the system using the built-in fingerprint scanner touchpad (optional), which allows you to unlock the device with a single touch. The keyboard has a backlight, which is convenient for working in low light or even in the dark. The height of the keys is 1.4 mm, which is convenient for typing.

New items are equipped with a fifth‑generation Wi-Fi module (standard 802.11 ac) and Bluetooth 4.2. The modern USB Type-C connector (USB 3.1) allows you to connect the cable to any side and transfer data at a speed up to 10 times higher than USB 2.0. In addition, laptops have USB 3.1 (Gen1) and USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI output and a microSD card slot.

Laptops are equipped with high-capacity batteries, the charge of which is enough for a day of battery life. Fast charging technology allows you to charge your device up to 60% in just 49 minutes. ASUS Battery Health Charging's proprietary option ensures the safety of the charging process, helps extend battery life and maintain high battery capacity for a long time.
