In this release of insider information: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 on 8 GB was registered in the EEU; Google Pixel 5 and Pixel 5 XL may lose the flagship hardware; the manufacturer of cases revealed the design of OnePlus 8.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 with 8 GB was registered in the EEU
According to network sources, NVIDIA is working on a next-generation Ampere-based graphics card that will fall into the RTX 30 line. In addition, next month a GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card with 8 GB of GDDR6 video memory may appear on store shelves. In the current version, users have a maximum of 6 GB. This was reported by the publication PCGamesN with reference to the registration documents of the EEU. According to them, we are waiting for three options for the new upgraded RTX 2060 from ASUS:
- ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce RTX 2060 EVO Gaming 8 GB
- ROG STRIX GeForce RTX 2060 EVO Gaming 8 GB
- STRIX GeForce RTX 2060 EVO Gaming Advanced 8 GB
The core configuration is likely to remain the same: TU106 with 1920 CUDA cores and 14 Gb/s memory. The bus interface, on the other hand, can get an extension of up to 256 bits instead of the previous 192 bits. At the same time, the card will offer a bandwidth of 448 GB/s.
Google Pixel 5 and Pixel 5 XL may lose flagship hardware
Shortly after the release of Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, users began to complain about the lack of autonomy of the devices due to the low battery capacity and energy-consuming features: a 90-Hz display and non-contact Motion Sense gesture control. The ability to unlock a smartphone in the face even with the user's eyes closed did not add to the popularity of devices. All this made some Google fans wait for the fifth generation of the company's flagships.
However, there were signs this week that the Pixel 5 and Pixel 5 XL might not get the flagship hardware. Reporters of 9to5Google managed to get a preliminary version of the Google Camera app from the test version of Pixel 4a. The app refers to Pixel 4a and Pixel 5 in the same way - "photo_pixel_2020_midrange_config". The app also shows the code names for the Pixel 5 models - Redfin and Bramble. Both smartphones will run on the Snapdragon 765G mobile platform. And although they are equipped with built-in 5g modems, these are not the most productive Qualcomm chips. Tests have shown that the performance of the Snapdragon 765G is 30-50% less than that of the Snapdragon 865.
The reason for this may be Google's desire to start positioning the Pixel as a low-cost alternative to expensive $1,000 phones, but with a better camera. In addition, fans are waiting for Google to solve the issue of autonomy, increase the amount of internal memory, add an ultra-wide-angle camera and expand the capabilities of Motion Sense.
The date of the smartphone announcement has not yet been revealed.
The manufacturer of cases revealed the design of the OnePlus 8
The announcement of OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8 Lite promises to be an important event in the first half of the year if the coronavirus epidemic does not change the company's plans. Nevertheless, manufacturers of covers and retailers are already actively demonstrating the possible design and protective accessories for the new item. On the GizTop website, transparent cases for OnePlus 8 appeared at a price of $ 1.29. Much more interesting are the renderings of the smartphone itself, thanks to which you can consider the display configuration and the location of the cameras.
The OnePlus 8 display will be curved on both sides, like the OnePlus 7 / 7T Pro. In the upper right corner is the only 32MP front camera embedded in the screen matrix. In the upper central part on the back of the phone are three cameras (rumored to be 48 + 16 + 2 megapixels) and an LED flash. Ports, volume buttons, and a notification slider in the OnePlus 8 render are in the same position as the previous generation model.
According to rumors, OnePlus 8 specifications include a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a built-in fingerprint scanner. The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will receive the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor in combination with the Adreno 650 GPU, as well as three memory options: 6/128 GB, 8/128 GB, and 12/256 GB. OnePlus 8 Lite is said to be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 1000 chip and a 90 Hz display.
