JEDEC solid-state technology Association has announced a New Low Power Double Data Rate 5 (LPDDR5) RAM for mobile devices. The main differences from the previous standard are improved energy efficiency and increased data transfer speed, which will improve the performance and autonomy of smartphones and other gadgets.
Memory type LPDDR5 is capable of processing information at speeds up to 6400 Mbit/s, which is twice as much as LPDDR4 RAM also has support for two new command-based operations to improve power consumption: Data-Copy and Write-X. the First sends an instruction to the device to copy data sent to one I/o contact to other I/o contacts. Write-X allows you to write all ones or all zeros to a specific address, eliminating the need to send information from the chipset to LPDDR5.
Earlier it was reported that the first devices using LPDDR5 memory will appear in 2020.
