The latest version of Android gives smartphones new features and an interface, but sometimes it can cause negative consequences. Users of several models of Sony gadgets at once complained about a number of problems that arise after the official update to the current firmware version.
One of the main “failures” reported by owners of Sony Xperia XZ2 and XZ3 smartphones was a noticeable delay in the smartphone getting out of lock when using a fingerprint scanner. Some users experience a fast battery drain or accidentally turn on the smartphone screen. Another owner of the Xperia XZ3 said that his alarm went off every minute, despite being turned off and only after clearing the cache did the signal stop. In some cases, after the update, the smartphones did not open more than one application at a time or completely hung, while rebooting the device did not change anything.
The Xperia XZ3 and Xperia XZ2 models were released in 2018 and are based on the Snapdragon 845 mobile platform. Nevertheless, these problems were also affected by last year's Xperia 1 and Xperia 5 smartphones based on Snapdragon 855. Some users managed to fix the errors using the Xperia Companion application, but a few days later all the problems returned.
According to unconfirmed information, Sony has already suspended the distribution of updates for some models of smartphones. The exact release date for the patch to address these issues is unknown.
