The capacity of one "cell" is 3 MWh, which is 14 times more than the Tesla Powerpack battery announced in 2015 with a capacity of 210 kWh. Tesla representatives claim that the company can build a gigawatt power plant in just three months. For comparison, the construction of a traditional analog will take about one year.
Megapack batteries can be connected directly to solar panels. The battery complex operates under the control of a central hub, which allows you to control the actual capacity and capacity of the station. An alternative option to using Megapack can be its operation as energy storage at enterprises experiencing an overabundance of electricity, for the purpose of further sale.
The goal of the entire Megapack project is to provide various settlements with the possibility of rapid deployment of power plants in those points where the population is experiencing a shortage of electricity. The main advantage of the Tesla solution will be simplicity, speed of installation and environmental friendliness.
