    South Korean President Moon Jae-In said that the situation with the spread of coronavirus in the country has entered a "critical stage" and announced the beginning of a "war" with the infection and the introduction of a 24-hour emergency for all state institutions in the country.

    As reported, on Tuesday in South Korea, the number of infected with the Covid-19 coronavirus increased by 600 cases, the total number of patients exceeded 4.8 thousand. Of the newly identified cases, 519 were registered in the city of Daegu, 61-in the province of North Gyeongsang.

    "The crisis in Daegu and the northern province of North Gyeongsang has reached its peak, and the whole country has entered the war against infectious disease," said Moon Jae Ying at a government meeting on Tuesday.

    He instructed all government organizations to switch to a "round-the-clock emergency response system," citing the need to strengthen preparedness for quarantine and economic activities.

    "The economic situation is difficult," the president said and added that the government will allocate 30 trillion won ($ 25 billion) to combat the crisis.
