    Shortly after the announcement of the Snapdragon 865 mobile platform, Qualcomm revealed the specifications of the flagship model. In addition to the increase in computing power, smartphones based on new processors will receive enhanced multimedia capabilities, including support for 200-megapixel cameras, and the ability to work with a wide range of popular interfaces.

    Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 mobile platform is made according to the 7-nm process technology. The eight-core processor of the new product is divided into two clusters: high-performance (ARM Cortex-A77, 3 x 2.4 GHz + 1 x 2.84 GHz), and energy-efficient (ARM Cortex-A55, 4 x 1.8 GHz). GPU Adreno 650 is responsible for the SoC graphic capabilities. The new product supports image resolution up to 4K with a refresh rate of 60 Hz or Quad HD + up to 144 Hz, the Rec2020 color gamut and HDR10 / HDR10 + standards. According to the manufacturer, the performance of the CPU and GPU platform compared to its predecessor increased by 25%.

    The new chipset supports up to 16 GB of RAM LPDDR4X (2133 MHz) and LPDDR5 (2750 MHz). To work with fifth-generation networks, the installation of an X55 5G modem is required with a download speed of up to 7.5 Gb/s and transfer rates of up to 3 Gb/s. The Spectra 480 image processor supports camera modules with sensor resolutions up to 200 megapixels.

    Smartphones based on Snapdragon 865 will be able to record video 8K @ 30 fps or 4K @ 120 fps, as well as video with a resolution of 720p at speeds up to 960 frames per second. Declared support for Dolby Vision and HDR10 technologies. The maximum amount of internal storage of such gadgets will be 512 GB.

    The new version of the single-chip system supports Wi-Fi 6 modules with a peak connection speed of 1.744 Gbit/s, as well as Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, a dual-frequency GPS receiver, USB Type-C, and other interfaces. Special technologies Super Wide Band and TrueWireless Stereo Plus provide a stable connection for wireless headphones.

    It is also possible to work with biometric sensors, including fingerprint scanners, voice recognition, and face recognition modules. Sensing Hub AI engine provides high-precision voice recognition and constant availability of voice assistants to work. Finally, the mobile platform supports Quick Charge 4+ and Quick Charge AI.

    The date of the first smartphone based on the Snapdragon 865 is unknown - Xiaomi, OPPO, Nokia, and Lenovo announced their intention to release models based on the latest flagship processor.
