Google announced that in the near future will increase the number of advertising impressions on mobile devices. Such a step, according to the company, will help owners of gadgets to find information about the products they want to buy faster. The change will affect not only the services of the search giant but also the firmware of some smartphones.
In its official blog, the Corporation said that in the near future it intends to increase the number of its products in which advertisements will be displayed. According to Google representatives, this approach will help users learn about new brands or products. The display method will also change: the format of advertising called Discovery means replacing individual banners with an image gallery at the top of the page.
"By combining a search approach with a more interactive visual format, gallery advertising makes it easier to communicate what your brand offers. We found that, on average, ad groups that include one or more ads in the gallery have 25 percent more interactions (paid clicks or views) at the top of the mobile search results page.", —says Google.
Ads will be shown in Google search results, on the home screens of some Android gadgets, in the Google app, as well as on the Google home page for mobile devices. In the future, Google Images and YouTube services will be added to the list, and the distribution of a new ad format for IOS users has been announced. The final transition of advertisers to the new method of banner distribution is planned for the current year.
