Many settings in the application interface allow you to block messages from individual interlocutors, automatically archive old messages in Google Drive and restore a backup on another device. Machine learning is used to automatically sort messages and organize them into separate folders. Personal correspondence of users, according to the developers, does not get to the Microsoft server and is processed locally.

The program analyzes spam, sending it to a separate folder, and sorts the rest of the "correspondence" by type, creating reminders about upcoming concerts, trips and hotel reservations after automatic analysis of correspondence.

The app was developed as part of the Microsoft Garage project and debuted in India, but after the first million downloads, the company expanded its regional presence to the US, UK, and Australian markets. The date of the European release of SMS Organizer has not been announced yet.
