  • Huawei and Google canceled the release of a number of products due to US sanctions

Against the backdrop of US sanctions, Huawei began to actively invest in its own development, and sales of its smartphones are breaking new records and are projected to grow to 270 million units in 2019 (70 million more than in 2018). But not everything at the Chinese company goes according to the plan. According to the new data, the Corporation had to cancel the release of several products developed jointly with Google.

According to the publication of The Information, Huawei and Google worked together for a year on a smart speaker with support for Google Assistant voice assistant. The device was planned to be shown in September this year at the exhibition IFA 2019 in Berlin, and then it had to go on sale in the United States. However, after the US authorities added a Chinese company to the "blacklist", the work on the gadget was stopped. Relations between Huawei and Google have resumed, but the release of this column has not yet been reported.

According to the source, the Chinese company has also discussed with Google ways to make Huawei smartphones compatible with the Android Auto platform, designed to use the "green robot" in cars. After the imposition of sanctions, the project also went into limbo.

It is not yet clear whether Google and Huawei plan to resume work in these areas and what other projects of the Chinese company have been canceled due to US sanctions.
