  • Hacker hacked iOS 13.1.1 in two seconds

Last week, a hacker under the pseudonym axi0mX promised to soon introduce a working jailbreak for the latest version of iOS - and has already published the results of his work. As it turned out, even the latest version of the mobile OS, which Apple has repeatedly called reliable and resistant to the actions of third-party developers, is not protected from hacking.

According to the hacker’s publication, the checkm8 software tool allows you to automatically download a jailbreak in two seconds after placing your smartphone in DFU service mode. Upon completion of the procedure, the gadget removes iOS restrictions on installing applications bypassing the App Store.

Another of the features of the firmware modification is the ability to install tweaks - utilities for modifying the OS and its interface. As a test platform, an iPhone X based on the Apple A11 processor was used.

According to the hacker, it is impossible to create a software patch to eliminate the vulnerability - the vulnerability uses a hardware "loophole". At this stage, the jailbreak remains “tied”: after each reboot of the smartphone, it needs to be reinstalled. In the future, its developers plan to introduce tools for installing applications from third-party repositories, including Cydia.
