At the end of 2017, Google launched the “ultralight” mobile version of its search engine. The application was designed for weak devices with the slow Internet but quickly gained popularity due to its high speed. Today, the corporation announced the global release of Google Go - all owners of relevant Android gadgets can download it.
The Go version of the search engine was developed as an alternative to the standard solution for entry-level smartphones. The "weight" of the application is only 7 MB, and the modified engine provides fast loading with minimal requirements for the hardware of the gadget. The Google Go code is also optimized to work with a slow Internet connection. With the application, you can scroll through the news feed, search for static and animated images or browse the web in a simplified mode.
In addition to standard text input, voice prompts and Google Lens camera search functions are supported. The application is able to convert text to speech, translate text and quickly switch to a second input language. Starting today, Google Go is available for download worldwide through the Google Play app store for devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop and newer.
