Summing up the year, Apple has published a list of the best games and apps for iPhone and iPad according to the censors of the App Store. Choosing the winners in various categories, the jury evaluated not only the performance of the user interface and functionality but also the feedback of the users themselves.
Apple named Specter Camera the best app of the year. The winner’s trick was the use of AI-algorithms for shooting on the iPhone with long shutter speed - this function is absent in the regular camera application.
For iPad, Flow by Moleskine, a multi-functional notebook with quick access to various tools and a minimalistic interface, became the application of the year.
In the category "best app for Mac" App Store censors awarded the victory to Affinity Publisher. With it, you can make up flyers or booklets without having to go through the grueling process of learning the design of printing.
The jury and the Apple TV set-top box were not left without attention, for which The Explorer was recognized as the best program: a digital gallery designed to help scientists and representatives of creative professions catalog images.
Game of the year on the iPhone was quest Sky: Children of the Light, developed by thatgamecompany. Its atmosphere, color palette, gameplay, and music received the highest critics' award.
The best game on the iPad was the 16-bit adventure Hyper Light Drifter, the release of the original version of which was introduced back in 2016 for Windows, macOS and Linux platforms.
On computers and Mac laptops, the title of the best game was earned by the GRIS puzzle platformer, which two studios worked at once: Nomada Studio and Devolver.
Noted by Apple and Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap - an exclusive adventure arcade game available on Apple TV.
