Due to a large number of low-quality applications and hundreds of clones, finding something worthwhile on Google Play is not an easy task. Soon, however, content searches and store navigation will become even more annoying. Google intends to introduce auto-playable videos to the market.
The search giant has warned developers that in September 2019, Google Play videos will start playing automatically on Google Play. In this regard, application creators need to make sure that their videos comply with the new requirements.
"Developers must disable video monetization on the app page before November 1, 2019, otherwise the video will be blocked. In September 2019, videos on Google Play will start playing automatically. This will make it easier for users to find the right content. Monetized records may contain ads that interfere with users. These videos include videos with monetization on YouTube, as well as videos that have copyrighted content," — said in the console for developers Google Play.
To prevent the video from being blocked, developers need to disable monetization, remove copyrighted content, and update the URL to a specific YouTube video.
Promotional videos appear before screenshots on the app’s page and in Google Play’s advertising areas. From September, these videos will start automatically when you open the page. Obviously, this will affect the consumption of traffic and will additionally load the processor. It is not clear whether users can disable this feature.
