
AMD has announced the Ryzen 4000H line of mobile processors at CES 2020. Now, the chip maker has announced the launch of the flagship new series for gaming laptops called Ryzen 9 4900H. The main features of the new product are an impressive clock speed, support for fast RAM modules and high-performance built-in graphics.
The 7nm mobile processor Ryzen 9 4900H received 8 physical cores and 16 threads of execution, as well as 12 MB of combined L2 and L3 cache memory. The base clock frequency of the new product is 3.3 GHz, in boost mode - up to 4.4 GHz. The default thermal package of the new chip is 45 watts and varies from 35 to 54 watts depending on the required performance in the current use case.
The CPU memory controller supports operation with DDR4 (up to 3200 MHz) and LPDDR4 (up to 4266 MHz) modules. The new product is equipped with integrated AMD Radeon graphics with 8 Vega cores (512 stream processors) and a GPU clock frequency of 1750 MHz. The proprietary AMD SmartShift technology automatically optimizes the power consumption of the processor and graphics adapter when running demanding applications.
A list of notebook models based on the AMD Ryzen 9 4900H processor will be announced later.
