  • Microsoft introduced the next-generation console - the Xbox Project Scarlett

The Microsoft conference at E3 2019 shed light on the next-generation Xbox console. The device code-named Scarlett will appear on the market next year and will receive extremely high performance, and at the same time — an integrated possibility of streaming games.

The core of the device was a customized bunch of CPU with the debut a couple of weeks ago Zen 2 architecture. The graphics subsystem consists of an unnamed Radeon Navi chip. As the operational and VRAM GDDR uses the standard 6, and for storing data and a snapshot of running games meets the SSD with a special structure. It is so fast that it can be used as virtual RAM. According to the creators, all these components will provide an overall performance four times higher than that of the Xbox One X (whose figure — about 6 teraflops). According to this information, the Microsoft console will be about twice as powerful as the flagship graphics card Radeon VII.

In addition, Scarlett will interact with the cloud, which will stream hits to it from a remote service, and will be able to run entertainment for other cloud devices. However, the details of this technology have not yet been disclosed.
