  • HUAWEI Vision - "smartphone" with a huge screen for the living room

After the flagship smartphones Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro, as well as a smartwatch Watch GT 2, HUAWEI introduced its first TV in Munich - Vision. It will be available in three sizes and differs from its competitors in a set of intelligent functions. In addition, HUAWEI has announced the price of FreeBuds 3 noise-canceling wireless headphones.

During the presentation, HUAWEI's General Director of Consumer Business, Richard Yu, called their new TV a large smartphone. According to him, their goal was to make not just another big screen for displaying content, but a smart device with a wide range of functions and capabilities.

HUAWEI Vision will be available in versions with 55-, 65- and 75-inch 4K-screen. The gadget uses a quantum dot matrix with 100 percent NTSC color gamut and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It supports a special vision protection mode that uses the functions of artificial intelligence to reduce eye strain.

The TV uses an intelligent audio system 8 + 1 + 1, capable of providing 5.1-channel surround sound without the use of additional acoustics. In addition, the sound can adapt to the environment. For this, artificial intelligence is needed.

One of the unique features of the HUAWEI Vision is the availability of a retractable AI camera. It has features for face recognition and motion tracking. For example, the user will be able to play sports in front of the TV, repeating the exercises for the trainer, and the device will monitor the correctness of their implementation. In addition, the camera can be used for video calls.

The TV runs on a proprietary operating system Harmony OS. At the presentation, it was announced about the possibility of quick and easy transfer of images from the smartphone screen, support for voice control (languages are not specified) and control of smart technology that supports the HiLink platform.

Interaction with the TV is carried out through the complete Bluetooth-remote with a minimum set of the most necessary buttons. In addition, by touching the HUAWEI smartphone to the bottom of the remote control, you can transfer the image or video from the phone to the large screen.

HUAWEI Vision pricing and release dates will be announced later.

In addition to the TV at the presentation, the company recalled the HUAWEI FreeBuds 3 wireless headphones presented at IFA 2019. They got the function of active noise reduction, support for Bluetooth 5.1 and up to 20 hours of battery life. The headphones will go on sale in October at a price of € 179.
