  • EOS 90D and EOS M6 Mark II - Canon introduced two new speed cameras

Canon introduced two new cameras: the SLR EOS 90D and the mirrorless EOS M6 Mark II. They feature fast shooting speed and high resolution. Each of them has its own characteristics and is able to give the best result in different scenarios. So, EOS 90D suitable for sports or wildlife, and M6 EOS Mark II for everyday use.

Both models are equipped with the latest generation Canon DIGIC 8 processor, which provides high processing speed, fast response and the latest photo and video shooting functions. The electronic system with a minimum shutter speed of 1/16 000 seconds guarantees high quality when shooting fast-moving objects. With this shutter speed, you can shoot with a wider aperture, even in natural light, to reduce the depth of field.

The EOS 90D supports 10 fps with tracking autofocus and 11 fps in Live View, which is suitable for shooting sports or wildlife. The optical viewfinder reduces the shutter delay and provides the responsiveness needed, for example, when shooting birds in flight. Intelligent display functions allow full control of frame composition and shooting settings. Even if the subject moves not only fast but also unpredictably, the photographer will be able to make more good shots thanks to long series —- up to 58 consecutive JPEG images in resolution L. In addition, the EOS 90D is capable of up to 1300 frames per battery charge.

The mirrorless model EOS M6 Mark II supports continuous shooting at 14 fps and burst shooting in RAW format at speeds up to 30 fps. In both modes, tracking AF is available. The camera also uses UHS-II cards that support continuous shooting of up to 80 JPEG frames in L resolution. The focus bracketing function in both models makes it easy to increase the depth of field by superimposing multiple frames in DPP.

The cameras allow you to create detailed images without blurring and artifacts thanks to the new APS-C image sensor at 32.5 megapixels. This resolution is comparable to the characteristics of full-frame cameras, but the new products also have additional advantages of the APS-C format. Thanks to the DIGIC 8 processor, both models received the latest features of the EOS family. The new chipset allows the use of lens correction tools, including digital lens optimization and dispersion correction. Support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth makes it possible to publish pictures on social networks right from the scene.

Canon also equipped both models with fast and accurate tracking autofocus on the eyes. In the case of the EOS 90D, this system works in conjunction with an RGB + IR metering sensor with a resolution of 220,000 pixels and a flicker detection function. Due to the high maximum ISO sensitivity (range from 100 to 25,600), the new sensor allows you to increase the resolution when shooting in low light conditions without sacrificing quality. The EOS M6 Mark II is capable of focusing when illuminated –5EV (when using a lens with a maximum aperture of f/1.4 or wider).

The EOS 90D and EOS M6 Mark II are also suitable for video recording. 4K resolution and shooting in Full HD with a frame rate of up to 120 frames/s allow you to shoot slow-motion video and crop it. The EOS 90D also offers 4K resolution in cropped mode. When approaching an object, high image quality is maintained.

The Canon Dual PixelCMOS AF autofocus system, available in Full HD and 4K modes over most of the frame area (88x100%), provides smooth and accurate focus tracking. This technology guarantees a sharp image of the subject on blurred background, and the eye-tracking function helps keep the focus on the face.

A special connector allows video bloggers and content creators to use an external microphone to record sound without distortion. The EOS 90D also has a headphone output so you can better control the sound quality during video recording. The EOS M6 Mark II portable camera is equipped with an inclined screen that allows you to compose the frame in different shooting modes.

Like other new EOS DSLR cameras, the EOS 90D has a classic body shape, but with less weight and a large grip area for improved control and balance. Programmable EOS buttons and two multi-function disks - including the new multi-controller on the back of the camera, as in professional models - will help control the camera, more accurately select focus points and find the necessary settings. The EOS 90D has a number of customizable features that let you set up a single unique style for photos or videos.

The compact size of the EOS M6 Mark II allows you to shoot without any preparation. An assignable dial, the main dial, a customizable auto/manual focus switch, and an auto-focus enable function are all intuitively located for easy camera control in dynamic situations. The removable viewfinder is raised above the camera body and is located in the center, which provides sufficient space and convenience for complete immersion in the creative process, and the screen with an adjustable angle of inclination allows you to shoot in different positions.
