Volkswagen Beetle is one of the most recognizable cars in the world. Its production lasted more than 80 years, and the total circulation of all modifications of the "Beetle" amounted to more than 21 million copies. Today, the media reported the end of the career of the famous model — on the day of the production stop, the last special versions of the cult car will come off the Assembly line.
The original Volkswagen Beetle was introduced in 1938. The two-door rear-wheel drive sedan weighing only 930 kilograms quickly won recognition of buyers. The main goal pursued by Volkswagen engineers was to develop an inexpensive and reliable car. Under the name Beetle it was produced until 2003, after which the company introduced an updated version of New Beetle.
Over its 80-year history of the model throughout the world has sold more than 21.5 million vehicles. Officially, the termination of production will take place today, July 10. From the Assembly line in the Mexican city of Puebla, where this model is collected since 1967, will descend the last batch of "beetles", created specifically for museums, and tomorrow Beetle will officially become history.
