  • Segway announces electric scooter with autopilot and self-charging

Electric cars are increasingly equipped with an autopilot - now the turn has come to scooters. The Segway brand, owned by the Chinese company Ninebot, has announced the KickScooter T60, a three-wheeled electric scooter with AI features. Smart vehicles are able to independently find the nearest charging station and “get up for refueling” when not in use.

It is expected that the target audience of the new items will be companies involved in the rental of electric vehicles. Now they have to either stimulate the user to stop the trip before the battery runs out, or send couriers for scooters that are already discharged. According to rumors, Uber was interested in the purchase of new products - despite the high cost, in the future, vehicles with the functions of self-return and self-loading can save the carrier a significant amount.

According to the manufacturer, the new product will go on sale next year at a price of about $ 1,420. According to a Reuters publication, about 1.6 million Segway brand scooters were sold last year.
