Modern cities are crowded with various types of ground transportation - getting to your destination at peak times is becoming increasingly difficult. For this reason, many companies are already working on creating their own version of a flying taxi. Recently, the South Korean Hyundai has entered the technology race, which has already announced a new type of air transport for megacities.
The new concept of transportation is called Hyundai Personal Air Vehicle (PAV) and involves working in tandem with the land transport network. Presumably, passengers will get to Hyundai's specialized air hub by self-driving car. The flying taxi will also be autonomous.
The station itself, according to the company, will be different from traditional airports and will be able to organically integrate into urban design. So, it is proposed to turn the hub into a venue for public events, combining ground and air structures.
As for the flying taxi itself, the automaker limited itself to the renderer presented above, saying that the prototype of an air taxi will be presented at CES 2020. Hyundai assumes that the development of airspace will reduce traffic congestion, reduce travel time, making the trip interesting and safe.
