At the Steve Jobs Theater hosted the long-awaited presentation of Apple products. In addition to the iPhone 11, the main stars of the show were the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max - the successors of last year's iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. Apple follows a three-year update cycle, so outwardly new smartphones do not differ much from their predecessors. All key changes are hidden inside.
In front, the iPhone 11 Pro fully repeats the iPhone XS and iPhone X - the same almost-frameless Super Retina OLED display with a fringe, the size, and shape of which has not changed in any way since the release of the Top Ten. In the usual "firmware" the screen has a diagonal of 5.8 inches, and in the Max version - 6.5 inches. Externally, the devices can be distinguished from their predecessors by the new body colors (dark green and gold), matte glass finish, located in the center of the Apple logo and the square block of the triple camera.
Despite the lack of differences between the new products in the front, the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max use a completely new Super Retina XDR OLED display. It has a contrast ratio of 2,000,000: 1 and a maximum brightness of 1200 cd/m². Apple also claims a 15% reduction in screen power consumption.
Apple paid special attention to the iPhone 11 Pro camera. It is represented by three 12-megapixel modules: the usual wide-angle, telephoto with an aperture increased to f/2.0 and ultra-wide-angle (120 degrees). All three sensors support shooting with extended dynamic range, video recording in 4K with 60 fps.
The iPhone finally has a night mode, which automatically activates when there is a lack of light. When you release the shutter, the camera takes a series of shots, and optical stabilization eliminates jitter. Then the photos are combined and processed so that in the end we get one bright frame. In addition, a feature called Deep Fusion debuted on the iPhone 11 Pro. Its essence is to capture nine frames and select the best pixels from each to create one detailed and high-quality image in any shooting conditions.
Like the iPhone 11, the new iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max use the Apple A13 Bionic processor. According to the company, this is the most powerful chipset that smartphones have. The performance of the graphics subsystem in comparison with the A12 Bionic increased by 20%, and energy consumption decreased by 30%.
Despite the brighter display and increased performance, Apple managed to increase the autonomy of smartphones. So, the regular iPhone 11 Pro works 4 hours longer than last year's iPhone XS, and the iPhone 11 Pro Max is able to withstand 5 hours longer than the iPhone XS Max on a single charge. Moreover, complete with the “firmware” is an 18 W power adapter for fast charging.
