Apple has announced the official release of the latest version of iOS 13 for supported iPhone models. The mobile OS has acquired the long-awaited dark design mode, new ways to view and edit photos, confidential authorization on web resources and a redesigned map service.
Dark mode design - The new color scheme is automatically applied to the entire system and regular applications. The mode is available to third-party developers for integration into their own applications and can be scheduled for automatic inclusion at sunset or at a certain time according to a schedule.
Speed of work - Apple claims that iOS 13 has become significantly faster thanks to optimizing the OS itself and reducing the size of application packages. Declared and an increase in the response speed of Face ID sensors for supported device models.
New gallery and the Camera app - Using machine learning on the device, the “Photos” application creates a library to highlight the best images of the past day, month or year. Another innovation was the automatic video playback function, and in the camera application for some iPhone models, there were additional settings for taking photos, including new filters and effects.
Sign with Apple function - Instead of using a social network account or creating a new password, iPhone users can simply use their Apple ID for authentication. Even in cases where developers prefer to request a name and email address, users can keep their email address secret and instead provide a unique random email address. Signing in with Apple makes it easy to authenticate users using Face ID or Touch ID and has built-in two-factor authentication.
New version of Safari - Siri offers and links to selected and frequently visited resources appeared on the updated browser start page. For individual sites, individual font size adjustment and the ability to view the full version of the page are provided.
Updated Apple Maps - The new application interface with more detailed information has received new features that make it easy to share the location of restaurants, travel destinations or shops with friends. There was also a menu item "Favorites" for navigation on frequently used routes.
Among other innovations are a standard swipe keyboard and a more realistic assistant voice Siri (in English), a redesigned quick command system, a new file manager, new privacy settings for geolocation services and other changes, a full list of which can be found on the official Apple website.
iOS 13 is already available for download on all iPhone models, starting with 6s/SE and later, as well as iPod Touch 7th generation multimedia players. You can install the new version of the OS on the device itself (Settings - basic - software update) or using iTunes on a PC or Mac.
