Xiaomi has announced the release of a smart suitcase capable of independently moving behind the owner. The gadget was developed in collaboration with COWAROBOT - the manufacturer of the world's first such suitcase. In addition to independent movement, the gadget hides a few more advanced functions.
The device looks like an ordinary travel suitcase with a retractable handle and wheels. It measures 555 x 384 x 220 mm and weighs 4.5 kg (excluding Luggage). Capacity-31 liters. The resemblance to traditional suitcases ends there.
The handle has a built-in camera that allows you to recognize the owner in person. In addition, with its help, the suitcase is able to navigate in space. In the wheels are hidden four of a variable speed motor allowing to set in motion the whole gadget. Machine vision technology allows it to avoid collisions with obstacles and other objects and accurately follow the owner.
The suitcase is powered by a 92 WH battery hidden in a special compartment. If necessary, you can get it at any time and use it as a Power Bank to recharge your smartphone or other gadgets. According to the manufacturer, a full charge is enough for 20 km, and charging takes about 5 hours. In the case of the suitcase, there is an led indicator that informs about the level of charge. You can follow these statistics through the mobile application. It will also tell you if the suitcase was forgotten somewhere.
The gadget is released on the crowdfunding platform Xiaomi and has already collected almost 500% of the required amount. The price of the gadget for first-time buyers is $280.
