Despite the lifting of US sanctions, the partnership between Huawei and US companies remains tense. The situation with suspicions of the threat of surveillance of American buyers was commented by the head of the Chinese vendor. He assured that the privacy of users does not threaten anything and compared the security level of smartphones brand with Apple solutions.
Ren Zhengfei said that, in terms of the privacy of users, Apple really can be attributed to the reference companies. The refusal to unlock the iPhone 5C in San Bernardino in 2016, Tim Cook's CEO's statement that “Apple users will never be a product” in 2018 once again confirms the high level of data protection. He claims that by following Apple’s lead, Huawei will do everything possible to ensure user privacy.
“We will never sell customer data. If we did it once, the United States would have evidence, and the 170 countries in which we operate would refuse our products. Tracking a user and his data is the task of the carrier. We, being a supplier of equipment, should not track any information, ”said Ren Zhengfei in an interview with CNBC journalists.
He also noted that the control of the corporation in China is carried out solely through legislation and taxation. According to him, unlike the United States, the Chinese government does not interfere in the activities of technology companies.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump lifted a number of sanctions against Huawei and hinted that it allows for the option of completely lifting trade restrictions. Nevertheless, the full restoration of partnerships is not yet being discussed.
