According to "TASS", in 2023 Japan intends to provide for the project a heavy rocket H-3 and a lunar Rover with equipment for water detection. The purpose of the mission — the exploration of craters of the South pole of the moon, the surface of which does not get sunlight. Detection of ice deposits in the future can simplify the colonization of the satellite.
An upgraded version of the Indian Vikram module, already sent to the moon on 22 July as part of the Chandrayaan-2 mission, is expected to be used as a landing module. A few days ago, a carrier rocket with the same station and a small moon Rover went to the moon, the landing of the rover should take place in September this year.
In case of the successful landing of the lunar Rover, India will become the fourth country after Russia, the USA, and China, which successfully landed.
