Long before the expected announcement, the network leaked the results of testing the new Intel Core i3 processor of the tenth generation. In addition to the clock frequency, insiders revealed the main difference between the new product from the current models of the line - in the future, the modification of the available CPU will allow it to successfully compete with AMD Ryzen in its price category. It also became known and detailed characteristics of almost two dozen models of the Core family.
According to the leak, the Quad-core Intel Core i3-10300 with a thermal package (TDP) of 65 W will receive 8 threads - previously, the Hyper-Threading function was disabled for all processors in this line. The return of HyperThreading will significantly increase the performance of the budget novelty in a number of scenarios. The base clock frequency of the model will be 3.7 GHz, in boost mode - 4.2 GHz.
The Core i5-10600 and i5-10500 models will get a similar upgrade. Six-core CPUs with 12 threads will differ only in frequency (base 3.2 / 3.3 GHz, overclocking-4.3 / 4.5 GHz, respectively). The TDP of new products will be 65 watts. The line will also include Core i5-10600K with a heat package of 95 W and the possibility of manual overclocking. Detailed expected specifications of all desktop processors Intel Core tenth generation insiders published in the form of a table:
The network also has information about the appearance of motherboards on Intel 400 series chipsets. Models based on Intel Z490 should be available in April 2020. A list of Gigabyte motherboards with updated system logic sets was published in the ECE database:
- Z490 AORUS MASTER WATERFORCE Z4 PRO AX
- Z490 AORUS ELITE AC
- Z490 VISION
- W480 DESIGNARE ECC
- H470I AORUS PRO AX
- B450M H
According to available information, Intel intends to transfer new products to the LGA 1200 socket. Although its dimensions are the same as the LGA 1151 (37, 5x37, 5 mm), it is not mechanically and electrically compatible with the coffee Lake generation motherboards. The company plans to release several 400 series chipsets, including the Z490, W480, Q470, and H410 for different market segments.
The exact release date and cost of new Intel products by the manufacturer have not yet been announced.
