During the March GDC 2019 conference, Google introduced the stadia cloud gaming service, which was immediately dubbed a potential "killer" of modern gaming systems. It is understandable because with proper implementation innovation can forever change the face of the industry. However, on this point, the audience had a lot of doubts. And most importantly — how high connection speed will be required for comfortable work with the platform? It turns out that it is "lifting".
According to Google Vice President Phil Harrison, the company is confident in the bright future of its ambitious technology. He said that stadia would not require high-speed Internet for normal operation. The service will provide the cherished 4K at 60 fps at a fairly modest 30-35 Mbit/s. For a comfortable game in 1080p will be enough, Harrison said, and 20-25 Mbit/s. However, how the company will be able to achieve such indicators, the Vice President did not tell.
In the countries where the service will be launched, the announced connection speed is considered quite ordinary. This is a recall, the US, Canada, UK, and Western Europe. When Stadia will get to Russia and whether it will do it at all is unknown.
