Since 2011, Huawei and Samsung have tried several times to agree on cross-licensing of patents, but failed to reach a mutual agreement. On January 11 last year, the Shenzhen intermediate people's court ruled that Samsung 4G-enabled mobile phones released and sold in China violated two Huawei patents. After that, the South Korean giant appealed to the high court of Guangdong, where representatives of the two corporations met repeatedly during the year. As a result, Huawei and Samsung were able to reach an agreement on cross-licensing of patents around the world, but on what terms — not disclosed.
