In the era of the development of autopilot systems for cars, engineers at Tsinghua University (China) decided to create a similar technology for a Bicycle. Two-wheeled vehicles taught to follow the owner and avoid obstacles. And this is not the whole list of what he can do.
At the heart of the bike is artificial intelligence. You can control the transport using voice commands, asking it to slow down, turn or stop. The design is interesting and the approach of engineers to automatic balancing — despite the lack of a person behind the wheel, the bike does not fall when driving and during a stop.
For stability, a system of gyroscopes is used, road tracking is carried out with the help of installed cameras, and a special sensor is responsible for controlling the speed. Thanks to the use of artificial intelligence, it was possible to ensure the operation of all systems at the expense of only one chip, which can later be used to turn conventional vehicles into smart ones.
Now the technological bike is tested on a closed area, where it goes around cones and people, performs various maneuvers. It is necessary to say "slow down" as two-wheeled transport slows down. The developers will continue the research and experiments, to create a fully automated control system that can be used in wheelchairs and special transport for people with disabilities.
