On the eve of the CES 2020 Consumer Electronics Show, LG said it planned to show a new line of soundbars as part of the event. The devices will receive an advanced “smart” component, a simple algorithm for connecting to other devices and modern design.
During the development of the new generation of soundbars, LG collaborated with Meridian Audio. Special attention was paid to the reproduction of low frequencies - now the systems are equipped with Bass and Space technologies, thanks to which the speakers sound with a predominance of bass, and the sound stage is significantly expanded compared to its predecessors. The special Image Elevation technology, which increases the pitch of the leading instruments and vocals, also adds to the realism of the sound. Most of the new models will support Dolby Atmos and DTS:X format.
New generation soundbars are equipped with automatic calibration function depending on the geometry of the room AI Room Calibration. Built-in microphones recognize the pattern of sound waves reflected from the walls and ceiling to assess the size of the space and further adjust the sound pattern.
The soundbars of the 2020 model line also have a 4K Pass-Through function, which provides the most realistic sound comparable to a movie theater. This effect is realized through an additional set of wireless rear speakers SPK8 Wireless Rear Speaker Kit. Google Assistant voice assistant support is available.
LG has added an improved reverse eARC audio channel to the soundbars for even more realistic three-dimensional sound of high-resolution audio formats like Dolby True HD or DTS Master Audio. The flagship model SN11RG is a 7.1.4-channel system complete with two wireless rear speakers that provide 360°sound delivery.
All new products will be presented by the company at CES 2020, held in Las Vegas, and later will reveal the prices and the start date of sales.
