The head of Razer hinted at the reason for the delay Razer Phone 3
According to rumors, the new gaming smartphone Razer Phone 3 at least frozen indefinitely, and in the worst case completely canceled. However, in a new interview with Engadget, Razer CEO Min-Liang Tang may have hinted at the reason for the alleged delay of Razer Phone 3.
In his interview, tan mentions the inevitable emergence of wide access to the 5G network, but notes that buying a 5G smartphone now — especially a gaming phone — is not the best move for the consumer.
"If I plan to buy a phone this year for gaming, I'll be looking for a device that supports 5G, but if I buy a 5G smartphone, I'll soon realize that there are no networks to use it yet."
And while tan didn't mention Razer Phone 3 directly, the hint of it in that statement looks as transparent as possible. The release date of Razer Phone 3, however, remains unknown.
Huawei Mate 30 is already in the testing phase
Immediately after the premiere of the flagship P30 and P30 Pro, Huawei started talking about the preparation of sequels Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro, and made it official during a press briefing in Malaysia. It is claimed that Mate 30 is already at the testing stage, and the release of new products is expected in September or October this year.
According to rumors, the Huawei Mate 7 will receive a 30-nm processor Kirin 985, 5G modem, large frameless screen, an advanced main camera.
Nubia Red Magic 3 with powerful charger seen in China
The new Nubia smartphone with model number NX629J has passed 3C certification in China. This is probably an updated version of last year's gaming smartphone Nubia NX619J — Nubia Red Magic Mars. In other words, a device with a possible trade name Nubia Red Magic 3 was seen in 3C.
Nubia NX629J will receive a charger for 30 watts, which means support for quick replacement of the battery. The estimated capacity of the installed battery is 5000 mAh. In addition, Red Magic 3 will receive a Snapdragon 855 processor, 12 GB of RAM and a 120 Hz refresh rate screen. The expected cost is up to $500.
Flexible smartphones Xiaomi and Samsung turned out to be very similar
A day ago, Xiaomi showed a prototype of its smartphone with a flexible screen. In contrast to the already presented models by Samsung and Huawei, the Chinese vendor intends to offer a device with two hinges for bending each edge of the display separately. At the same time, Samsung has patented another type of bending smartphone, which is surprisingly similar to the unannounced xiaomi model.
The Samsung smartphone is thicker on the sides and thinner in the middle, while the Xiaomi gadget has the same thickness over the entire area. To prevent the display from sagging when used in an unfolded state, Samsung placed a stiffener in the center of the case. In the folded position, the support is located between the two parts of the display and eliminates direct contact of the screen with a solid surface. According to the idea of engineers, it will prevent scratches on the screen.
Samsung Electronics filed a patent application for this design with the world intellectual property organization in December 2017. Apparently, Samsung intends to update the line of bendable smartphones every year.
