MSI introduced a series of motherboards based on the Intel 400 chipset, designed to install 10th generation Intel Core processors. The boards feature an improved cooling system and support for the installation of productive components through the latest slots.
The entire line of new MSI motherboards is presented in four series: MEG, MPG, MAG, and PRO. Each model is adapted for specific tasks and is able to provide maximum performance during operation due to an efficient cooling system, including for solid-state drives installed in M.2 slots. Instead of the traditional six, the new board consists of ten layers for improved heat transfer and stable operation of high-speed interfaces.
Network interfaces are represented by wired and wireless controllers of the latest standards 2.5 G Ethernet and Wi-Fi 6, respectively. All MSI 400 series have full-color backlighting with a quick on/off function. For ease of installation, they are equipped with a pre-installed interface panel and optimized for MSI cooling systems.
The cooling system of the MEG series motherboards includes a Frozr chipset radiator with a fan on long-lasting double ball bearings. To reduce noise, the fan may stop at a low temperature. Each model also has air vents in the interface connector panel. In order to provide even more efficient heat removal, the MEG Z490 GODLIKE offers additional engineering solutions, such as a heat tube that provides stability under high loads and in acceleration mode.
The MEG Z490 GODLIKE Board has three M.2 slots, and all of them are equipped with double-sided M.2 Shield Frozr radiators, which prevent the solid-state drives installed in them from overheating. The power system of the MEG models is represented by 16 power modules designed for a current of up to 90 A, and 16 Titanium Choke III chokes.
Among the exclusive functions of the MEG Z490 GODLIKE is the OLED color display, 10G Ethernet, and Thunderbolt 3 interfaces, as well as the M.2 XPANDER-Z GEN 4 S adapter, which is used to install solid-state drives and provide their cooling.
MPG series motherboards offer high performance combined with a unique design complemented by colorful backlighting. All models have built-in Mystic Light LED illumination, capable of displaying 16.8 million different colors and 29 dynamic visual effects, which are easily selectable through the exclusive Dragon Center application.
The high-quality Duet Rail power system is responsible for a stable power supply. The MPG Z490 GAMING CARBON WIFI model has a large chipset radiator and heat tube, the MPG Z490 GAMING EDGE WIFI, and MPG Z490M GAMING EDGE WIFI have an aluminum casing, and the MPG Z490 GAMING PLUS has an enlarged radiator. Each of the new boards is equipped with effective cooling means to ensure the stable operation of the computer.
The MPG Z490 GAMING CARBON WIFI and MPG Z490 GAMING EDGE WIFI models also have an advanced USB interface with a bandwidth of up to 20 Gb/s, implemented on the basis of the ASMedia 3241 controller via the USB-C connector.
The design in the "military" style reflects the gamer character of the series. For efficient cooling, the MAG Z490 TOMAHAWK has an aluminum casing, and the MAG B460 TOMAHAWK has an enlarged radiator. Each M.2 slot is equipped with an M.2 Shield Frozr radiator. Digital power system Duet Rail according to the scheme 12+1+1 guarantees a stable power supply.
The MAG Z490 TOMAHAWK board has two high-performance wired network controllers at once and supports 2.5 G Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet. It should also be noted that MSI offers a full line of MAG boards based on the B460 chipset, which includes the Tomahawk, Mortar, and Bazooka models. All of them are equipped with a Duet Rail power system and are designed for entry-level gaming computers.
