Canon has announced the release of the successor to the popular EOS M100 camera - the Canon EOS M200. The new mirrorless camera is equipped with the latest generation processor, an advanced autofocus mechanism and a video recording function in 4K format. In addition, sharing the footage is as easy as using a smartphone.
The Canon EOS M200 uses a 24.1-megapixel APS-C sensor, which is much larger than smartphones. This allows you to make detailed images that remain clear even after cropping or zooming. The latest generation DIGIC 8 processor supports a maximum sensitivity of ISO 100 - 25 600 (expandable to the equivalent of ISO 51 200), which prevents blurring of the image and reduces the amount of noise when shooting in dark rooms.
The camera is equipped with Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology, which allows you to shoot video and photos while keeping moving objects in focus. It is also highly sensitive in low light (up to -4EV). This allows you to shoot at parties, holidays and concerts. A new autofocus function with eye recognition allows you to take photos of people while automatically keeping the focus on the eyes of the model.
Canon EOS M200 allows you to shoot in 4K. In addition, the camera is equipped with the functions of time-lapse video recording in 4K format and extracting individual frames from 4K-video.
The LCD touch screen rotates 180 degrees, allowing you to shoot yourself. In addition, in self-portrait mode, background blur and brightness are adjusted in real-time. For the first time for EOS cameras in video mode, the video button is displayed directly on the touch screen. It is located so that it is convenient for the operator to shoot a video for a blog with a 180-degree display. Video can also be recorded in vertical format - such videos are suitable for publication on social networks.
The Canon EOS M200 comes with a range of features and tools to help photographers move from smartphone to camera. For example, Creative Assist offers a variety of effects, filters, and color adjustment tools that can be applied both during and after shooting. In addition, it is possible to edit the finished images, adding filters and effects, as in applications for photo processing.
Compatibility with the wide range of available EF-M lenses expands the creative possibilities of the EOS M200. The EF-EOS m adapter allows you to mount a variety of EF - S wide-angle, telephoto, and macro lenses and a full range of EF lenses.
After capturing and preparing a photo or video for publication, the EOS M200 can be connected to mobile devices via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi using the free Canon Camera Connect app for iOS and Android. Here you can upload, view and share your photos on social networks. In addition, photos and videos can be automatically sent to your phone or tablet immediately after shooting. As long as the camera is within reach of the Bluetooth connection, it can maintain a constant connection to the smartphone even in the off state.
The Canon Camera Connect app also offers remote shooting control via a mobile device, which is suitable for taking group photos or selfies at a distance from the camera.
The Canon EOS M200 is available in black and white with a high-quality embossed leather finish. If desired, users can change the appearance of the camera with colored covers.
The gadget will be available in Canon online store and from official retailers from October 2019.
