ASUS introduced a new line of home routers ZenWiFi. There are two models to choose from: ZenWiFi AX with support for the latest standard Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and ZenWiFi AC with support for Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). The devices have an unusual design, ease of setup and support for many additional features.
Unlike most routers, the ZenWiFi system allows you to set a separate network name (SSID) for each of the supported bands, so that users can choose which band to connect to: 2.4 or 5 GHz. If desired, you can activate the ASUS Smart Connection function, which will automatically determine the range for connecting devices based on the signal strength and channel load. A special algorithm provides switching between different nodes without loss of connection.
Supported bands ASUS ZenWiFi AX:
- 802.11ax (5 GHz-2): up to 4804 Mbps
- 802.11ax (5GHz-1): up to 1201 Mbps
- 802.11ax (2.4 GHz): up to 574 Mbps
Supported bands ASUS ZenWiFi AC:
- 802.11ac (5 GHz-2): up to 1734 Mbps
- 802.11ac (5 GHz-1): up to 866 Mbps
- 802.11n: up to 300 Mbps
- 256QAM (2.4 GHz): up to 400 Mbps
Using ZenWiFi, you can select one 5 GHz band for a transit connection, and leave the second 5 GHz channel for connecting devices, which is not found in conventional dual-band systems, where half the bandwidth is used for a transit connection. Due to this, high speed and stability of the connection are maintained, even if the signal is transmitted to the owner’s gadget through several network nodes. The vertical design of the ZenWiFi system is designed with airflow inside the enclosure to cool the system. It accommodates a printed circuit board and six antennas of optimized shape for efficient signal coverage of the room.
The ZenWiFi AX system supports the latest WiFi 6 standard, capable of transmitting data at speeds up to 6600 Mbps and a coverage range of over 500 m² (about six rooms). To operate at such speeds and connect a large number of devices, the router uses a quad-core processor. The ZenWiFi AC system supports the Wi-Fi 5 standard for data transfer at speeds up to 3000 Mbps and is suitable for a four-room apartment.
Routers come with a free lifetime AiProtection Pro software license built-in security system developed by Trend Micro to protect against online threats. This technology also includes parental controls to limit children's access to inappropriate content on the Internet.
With easy setup, creating a home Wi-Fi network with ZenWiFi takes minutes. New items support exclusive AiMesh technology and the ability to configure through a mobile application or web interface. For advanced users who prefer to manually set all parameters, a special mode is provided in which access to the system’s thin settings is provided.
The price and timing of the appearance of devices on sale will be announced separately.
