Media giant Tencent announces SYN shooter - Chinese response to Cyberpunk 2077 [VIDEO]

Recommended Posts

In the wake of a new surge in popularity of the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077, which began after the broadcast of Night City Wire, Tencent announced the shooter SYN. This is also a fantastic action game in the scenery of cyberpunk but from Chinese developers. In addition to the announcement itself, the publisher shared with the public a video with a technical demonstration of the future news.

As well as the hotly anticipated creation of the Polish Studio CD Projekt RED, the Chinese SYN will be a first-person action game, which will feature an open world controlled by powerful factions and a lot of opportunities for customization of characters.

It is worth noting that the visual style of the brainchild of Tencent will be different from what awaits us in Cyberpunk 2077. So, the characters of the game, even if they do not flaunt hypertrophied proportions, still have external attributes that are inherent in Asian games and animated films rather than Western ones. Take the frighteningly large eyes and wild hair. By the way, to create the latter, a special system of strands is used, developed in collaboration with Epic Games, the owner of Unreal Engine.

Yes, this is the engine that creates SYN. The Lightspeed & Quantum Studios team is responsible for its development. One of the features of the action will be the ability to have your own cybernetic pet with customizable appearance and abilities. The release date of the promising SYN, alas, is not yet reported. But it is known that the game will be released on PC and consoles.
